Occasionally, manual updates are required to keep MetaMask running properly within your Chrome browser. Despite attempts to run automatic updates, they don’t initiate and users are required to move through the update process themselves.
This is how you manually update your Chrome MetaMask extension…
1.Open the Google Chrome application.
2. Type chrome://extensions into the address bar OR go to the hamburger icon in the top-right corner, click Settings, and then click Extensions on the left sidebar.

3. Toggle Developer Mode in the top right corner.
4. Click Update extensions now under developer mode.
